Match Group is seeking a talented and motivated Corporate Counsel to join the Match Group Asia Legal team in Seoul. This role is a key part of supporting a fast-evolving suite of apps, including Hyperconnect's services and Match Group's global portfolio of dating and social discovery apps. You'll provide day-to-day legal support, focusing on commercial agreements, product localization, and ensuring compliance with a range of legal and cultural requirements. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), is effectively bilingual in Korean and English, and has a strategic, business-friendly approach to legal problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Agreements: Draft and negotiate various commercial agreements for business partners across a global footprint, including marketing, advertising, brand partnerships, and distribution agreements.
- Product Localization & Compliance: Work closely with global teams to support the localization and rollout of new product features. You'll ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and cultural sensitivities, particularly in North Asia and the Middle East.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams (product, engineering, privacy, etc.) to identify business outcomes and minimize legal risk.
- Corporate Policies: Assist in the administration of corporate policies and procedures related to vendor security, privacy compliance, and contract approval.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of PQE, with experience from a top law firm or in-house legal department preferred.
- Education: A law degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in South Korea, the U.S., or another notable Commonwealth jurisdiction.
- Languages: Effectively bilingual in both Korean and English (business-level, written and spoken).
- Expertise: Adept at advising on data/privacy protection, IP, digital media, and consumer-facing internet industries.
- Mindset: You should have a strategic and business-friendly approach to legal problem-solving, be naturally curious, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. A strong sense of ownership and accountability is essential.

- 상업적 계약: 글로벌 파트너들을 위해 마케팅, 광고, 콘텐츠 제작, 브랜드 파트너십, 유통 및 비즈니스 개발 계약 등 다양한 상업적 계약을 초안 작성하고 협상합니다.
- 제품 현지화 및 준수: 글로벌 팀과 긴밀히 협력하여 제품 기능 및 이니셔티브의 현지화 및 출시를 지원합니다. 특히 북아시아 및 중동 지역의 법률, 정치, 문화적 민감성 및 관련 규정을 준수하도록 보장합니다.
- 부서 간 협업: 제품, 엔지니어링, 개인정보보호 등 내부 팀과 협력하여 법적 위험을 최소화하면서 비즈니스 목표를 달성하도록 지원합니다.
- 기업 정책: 공급업체 보안, 개인정보보호 규정 준수, 계약 승인 등 기업 정책 및 절차 관리를 지원합니다.
자격 요건
- 경력: 최소 2~3년의 변호사 자격 취득 후 경력(PQE)이 필요하며, 대형 로펌 및 사내 법무팀 경험 우대.
- 학력: 공인된 법학 대학원 졸업 및 한국, 미국 또는 기타 저명한 영연방 국가에서 변호사 자격(또는 사내 변호사 자격) 소지.
- 전문성: 데이터/개인정보보호, 지적재산권, 디지털 미디어, 소비자 대상 인터넷 산업에 대한 자문 경험이 풍부한 분.
- 마인드셋: 법적 문제 해결에 있어 전략적이고 비즈니스 친화적인 접근 방식을 가지고 있으며, 자연스러운 호기심으로 비즈니스와 새로운 법률 분야를 배우고자 하는 분. 빠르게 변화하는 환경에서 여러 가지 요구사항과 우선순위를 동시에 관리할 수 있는 분.
- 언어: 한국어와 영어 모두에 능통해야 하며(비즈니스 수준, 작문 및 구두).
