Netflix is seeking an experienced and proactive Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs to join its legal team in Seoul. This role is crucial for supporting Netflix's content programming in Korea, focusing on the development, acquisition, and production of local content. You will be responsible for structuring, negotiating, and drafting a wide range of agreements with content partners, and providing legal counsel to internal teams. The ideal candidate is a licensed attorney with 7-11 years of experience, fully fluent in both Korean and English, and possesses a strong understanding of IP and entertainment law.
Key Responsibilities
- Agreement Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including content licenses, co-production deals, and agreements for talent and production services (e.g., Above-the-Line agreements).
- Legal Analysis & Risk Management: Conduct legal analysis on issues throughout the content lifecycle, from development to distribution. You will identify risks, ensure compliance, and propose practical, solution-oriented guidance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Maintain close alignment with internal teams such as Content, Production, Marketing/PR, and Music to ensure efficient deal execution and business operations.
- Template Management: Manage and update various legal templates to reflect current business needs, legal standards, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 7 to 11 years of experience as a licensed attorney, with membership in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
- Languages: Full professional fluency in both Korean and English, with excellent drafting and negotiation skills in both languages.
- Skills: Strong business acumen, exceptional analytical abilities, and sound judgment. You must be able to work proactively and independently, managing multiple matters under tight deadlines.
- Preferred Background: Prior experience in IP or entertainment law within a law firm, or in-house counsel experience in the media or entertainment industry.

- 템플릿 관리: 현재의 비즈니스 요구사항, 법률 표준 및 업계 모범 사례를 반영하여 다양한 법률 템플릿을 관리하고 업데이트합니다.
자격 요건
- 경력: 변호사 자격증 소지자로서 최소 7년에서 11년의 경력 필수. 최소 한 곳 이상의 관할권에서 변호사 자격 유지.
- 언어: 한국어와 영어 모두 완벽하게 유창해야 하며, 두 언어 모두 뛰어난 초안 작성 및 협상 능력을 갖춰야 합니다.
- 기술: 강력한 비즈니스 감각과 뛰어난 분석 능력, 그리고 건전한 판단력을 갖춰야 합니다. 적극적이고 독립적으로 업무를 수행하며, 촉박한 마감일 안에 여러 사안을 관리할 수 있어야 합니다.
- 우대 사항: 로펌에서의 지적재산권 또는 엔터테인먼트 법 관련 경험, 또는 미디어/엔터테인먼트 산업의 사내 변호사 경험.
